Keep Britain Working
At REED our aim is simple, to preserve as many jobs as we can and to protect livelihoods. As an organisation some difficult decisions had to be made over the last month which got James Reed thinking about what else we might do to help people and businesses more widely. This has led to the re-birth of Keep Britain Working.

What is Keep Britain Working?
Keep Britain Working will help redeploy workers from struggling sectors to in-demand ones, help people who have lost their jobs find new ones, share and implement the best ideas to help the country keep working, and get people back into work.
We want to share ideas, encourage good practice and help individuals and the economy to recover.

Wider support and backing
Keep Britain Working has received support from Lord Alan Sugar, dry cleaning boss James Timpson, and Severn Trent chief executive, Liv Garfield. MPs Penny Mordaunt, Steve Brine and Caroline Nokes have also given the movement their backing, alongside business group the CBI. Trade organisations Recruitment & Employment Confederation and the Family Business Place are also on board.

The campaign launched on keepbritainworking.com and encourages businesses and working people to make pledges to #KeepBritainWorking both during the crisis and beyond. The website also serves as a hub for sharing ideas and advice; including resources to support companies and their employees during this most difficult of times. Here you can find guidance and support on working, on boarding and sharing tips on remote working.
I want to be a part of this…
You can show your support for the campaign by visiting the ‘Get Involved’ page and registering; here you can also make your own pledge. It can be something small to make a positive difference – whether you can pledge to protect jobs, volunteer your time, teach someone a new skill or promote health and happiness.

“We’re on a mission to Keep Britain Working. We’ll do this by sharing the best ideas, advice and guidance to support businesses and workers, by connecting those who have lost their jobs from sectors that are struggling to those that are in demand, and by inspiring people across the nation to focus on how, where and when we work, once we move away from the current challenges.”
James Reed, CEO – REED

My pledge to #KeepBritainWorking: At REED every decision we make will be in the interest of the company & for the preservation of as many jobs as possible. We will not be able to save every job. But we will do all that we can to redeploy those threatened by redundancy.
