Overview

As Technical Product Manager you’ll demonstrate the use of new technologies, and improvement in old technologies to help drive the digital transformation at Reed Online, whilst still maintaining excellent security and compliance standards. You will work closely with peers across the organisation to set priorities and ensure a sound, ambitious vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing a platform vision with cross-functional engineering leaders, and define the standards of how various aspects of the engineering strategy should be implemented for the entire company
  • Work collaboratively across other departments to understand what capabilities are required for growth and engagement initiatives and formulate scalable technical solutions based on new value opportunities
  • You will articulate, prioritise and drive the platform / service strategy and roadmap based on user insights, optimisation opportunities, and input from key partners
  • You will monitor and analyse key performance metrics and use this data to identify high-impact opportunities to improve login and registration rates across all platforms (desktop, mobile and apps)
  • You have enough technical knowledge to identify dependencies on other teams and work with them to align roadmaps
  • Own all aspects of product roadmap and feature development for the Reed Online Platform
  • Determine and refine the Reed Online platform strategy and key differentiators in an increasingly competitive market.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as product, architecture, operations, finance, data science, business intelligence, and wider engineering community to scale the platform
  • Be eager to work across domains to identify the correct prioritisation of tasks across the programme, highlighting dependencies and raising risks with appropriate mitigations as and when required.

Requirements

You have proven skills, including writing technical specifications and performing opportunity assessments. You’re curious and open-minded, able to take in a lot of input from partners, and ultimately commit to a decision. Additionally, you have a consistent record of successfully working with software engineers, and communicating effectively both horizontally and vertically.

  • Minimum of 6 years of related technical product management experience
  • Strong technical literacy with an excellent grasp of the engineering challenges and core technologies that drive an online native technology first business
  • Excellent analytical abilities with strong user empathy and awareness motivated by qualitative research methods
  • Passion for Reed Online’s mission and a commitment to be a part of our innovation and growth
  • Strong written and communication skills including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical people
  • Extensive experience with agile software development methodologies
  • You have built, shipped, and managed pioneering cloud platforms at scale.
  • You have extensive experience recruiting and leading platform product / service teams.
