The role

We are looking for a Software Development Manager to support a new B2C team focused on SEO, they will be working in an Agile Methodology using C# services, with a React UI (NextJS) in a microservice based architecture. As the Software Development Manager you will be responsible for technical leadership and line management of a team of engineers. You will help us drive our culture of ownership and accountability, to help develop our engineers technically and professionally. You will also be responsible for delivering on the product roadmap, you will work closely with engineers, product managers and scrum masters to ensure solutions are delivered on time & successfully, with a keen focus on quality, process and implementing best practices..

Being a strong team leader with deep technical knowledge, you will be operationalizing principles and standards in Full Stack development, and develop a culture of accountability that drives the team to use them. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to lead and inspire your team and to manage external stakeholders.

  • SEO ranking will have improved over all key pages over the year

Key Activities

  • Liaise with Product Managers, Technical Architects, Designers & other stakeholders to understand the scope of work, interdependencies and maintain a balance between building high-impact projects and shipping things quickly

  • Mentor and coach the professional and technical development within the team helping them develop their careers. Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of team members

  • Work within an agile team, identifying areas of improvements and making sure processes are adhered to and deliverables achieved

  • Help develop and maintain a sustainable, healthy engineering culture and environment which is both encouraging and challenging

  • You will articulate ideas in ways that resonate with both Engineers and non-technical people

  • Problem solving and decision making – sound judgement at a senior management level using assertiveness and influencing skills to demonstrate business benefits and to ensure the decision is fully understood and accepted

  • Experience with cloud administration (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure)

  • Exposure to NoSQL databases: AWS DynamoDB, Google BigQuery and redis

  • Exposure to continuous development such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing and deployment
