Senior Technical Architect

Reed.co.uk are looking for a Senior Technical Architect to join their established team based in Holborn, Central London.

The role

You will be helping to support our teams in delivering high-value business objectives while transforming our technical real-estate into modern architecture. You will also be responsible for helping delivery on the product roadmap, you will work closely with stakeholders, engineers, product managers and scrum masters to ensure solutions are delivered on time & successfully, with a keen focus on quality, process and implementing best practices.

 

Key Activities

  • Provide technical leadership on proof of concepts to establish architectural patterns for new projects

  • Responsible for refactoring existing solutions while embracing cloud-first strategy

  • Review evolving requirements and work with stakeholders to make enhancements/changes to the architecture through a collaborative process with the product team(s)

  • Liaise with Product Managers, other Architects, Designers & other stakeholders to understand the scope of work, interdependencies and maintain a balance between building high-impact projects and delivering on time

  • Help develop and maintain a sustainable, healthy engineering culture and environment which is both encouraging and challenging

  • You will articulate ideas in ways that resonate with both Engineers and non-technical people

  • Problem solving and decision making – sound judgement at a senior management level using assertiveness and influencing skills to demonstrate business benefits and to ensure the decision is fully understood and accepted

  • Implement and evaluate technical success metrics

Technical

  • Experience working on and optimising high transactional web applications

  • Expert knowledge of C#, .NET Core, front-end technologies and t-sql

  • Expert knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and standard (Event Driven Architecture)

  • In depth knowledge of agile practices (scrum roles and methodology)

  • Best practices in testing – TDD, BDD etc

  • Understand data storage systems, mssql, redis, elasticsearch, nosql

  • Experience with major website rebuilds or re-platforming projects moving to SOA / Microservices

  • Experience with cloud administration (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure)

  • Exposure to continuous development such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing and deployment

  • Exposure to container and serverless hosting
