Screening Manager

Job title: Screening Manager

Contract: full time, permanent  

 Your new role…

To support the continuing financial success of Reed Screening, by managing the inbound telephony teams and ensuring that all calls are handled in a professional and timely manner to ensure compliance in respect of all current legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements, and by developing the revenue potential of Screening.

What you’ll be doing


  • To lead, develop and manage dedicated telephony teams, to work professionally and effectively in supporting the Screening Operations
  • To develop, review and issue as appropriate, a set of key performance indicators regarding the performance of the team
  • Working in conjunction with the Operations & Risk Managers to support operations to ensure compliance and driving excellent customer service
  • To liaise with Internal & External stakeholders on a regular basis regarding the effectiveness of the function, any changes to procedure required and generally to ensure that all customers are fully engaged in the compliance process
  • To keep under review and the team up to date of the changing demands of compliance requirements
  • To keep up to date with external issues that have an impact on compliance standards

Process Management:

  • To monitor all systems and constantly review more efficient ways of working
  • Ensure that the function consistently meets the contractual obligations whilst driving excellent customer service
  • To be present at internal/external audits and ensure feedback is quickly acted upon to ensure positive results
  • To ensure all relevant feedback and remedial work that is communicated is consistent and clearly understood
  • To ensure that all internal and external process are always adhered to and take the appropriate action when not


  • Maintain excellent relationships with internal / external stakeholders, clients, and Reed senior management
  • Effective communicator/negotiator with an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at every level of an organisation
  • Ability to use sound judgement in respect of issue escalation where necessary


  • Development of skills and competencies within the team
  • Improved productivity within the Screening department
  • Define and agree plans and strategies with internal and external stakeholder
  • Successful external audits of Reed
  • Customer feedback
  • Demonstrate continual improvement
  • Minimise cost as far as reasonably practicable
  • Income and creation of a revenue stream
  • Achievement of all telephony KPIs as per the contract

 Who we’re looking for

External candidate experience:

  • Call Centre management experience is preferred but not essential
  • Relevant experience in team performance management including coaching, development plans, setting KPI metrics
  • Strong Customer Service background

Internal candidate experience:

  • Have started Advance Level 2, are active on the Buddy Scheme and are part of a Working Group or a Screening & Compliance Champion


  • A knowledge of the relevant regulators
  • An understanding of how an agency operates
  • A knowledge of regulation within the Recruitment industry and the effect this has on agency workers
