Sales Manager


Job Title: Sales Manager 6 Month FTC
Reporting to: Head of Sales
Direct Reports: 5 Field sales reps
Location: Dragon Court, London
Salary: £45,000 – £56,000 (Pro-Rata)

We have a fantastic opportunity to join us at Reed.co.uk on a 6 month FTC as a Sales Manager on our expanding courses business.

The Sales Manager will report to the Head of Sales and will be responsible for leading the Account Management and Higher Education teams, who sell to the UK’s largest Course Providers, colleges and universities. 

Key Activities

  • Drive business revenues and take ownership of the team’s periodic and quarterly targets, leading the team towards year-on-year growth
  • Close management of the Courses team’s delivery on key metrics including new business revenue, trials and customer acquisition
  • Conduct periodic reviews with team members ensuring adherence to KPIs and company standards
  • Mentor, coach and conduct team training when needed to ensure team development and growth
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales to devise and implement reed.co.uk’s strategy
  • Forecasting and reporting as required by the Head of Sales and wider business
  • Work with the People team on recruitment of new Co-Members into the team
  • Conduct in-depth needs analysis with key accounts and match requirements to reed.co.uk products
  • Confidently demonstrate reed.co.uk’s products and conduct on-site training with clients where necessary
  • Maintain business relationships with contracted clients to ensure continued utilisation of reed.co.uk and identify opportunities to sell further products or solutions
  • Create a clear and transparent relationship with multiple business functions including Product and Marketing
  • Personally produce contracts and proposals that conform to agreed standards and ensure these standards are embedded across the team
  • Ensure high standards of negotiation personally and across the team
  • Respond to customer enquiries/requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Attend networking events and industry awards ceremonies (where appropriate) to build personal portfolio and the reed.co.uk brand
  • Work with the Head of sales, Managing Director, and People team to identify development opportunities for team members

Capabilities and Competencies

  • Demonstrable background in face-to-face sales, ideally within online media
  • Excellent account management skills and demonstrable ability to build long lasting client relationships
  • Track record of success within new business and account management
  • Experience of people management within a face-to-face sales team
  • A consultative approach to sales and being comfortable asking for business
  • A proven track-record of consistent achievement of sales KPIs and targets
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills and an ability to interact with diverse audiences
  • Results driven, motivated and passionate about sales
  • Strong commitment to personal excellence, self-disciplined, well presented and resourceful with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
