Practice Manager

Your new role…

As a Head of Practice you will run a successful recruitment office, leading from the front to motivate and inspire a specialist team of IT and technical recruiters.  You will demonstrate expertise as a recruiter in your own specialist market and act as an example to your team in candidate and client facing activities as set out in the Consultants role profile. 

What you’ll be doing

Increase Profitability:

  • Identify key market opportunities ahead of the competition to increase the profitability of the Reed Technology business
  • Lead from the front in terms of your own individual billings, increasing the profitability and financial growth of the business
  • Have a full and thorough understanding of your marketplace by educating yourself through continuous research, meaning you will be able to identify and secure opportunities where others may not
  • Provide strategic consultative advice to our clients
  • Responsible for overseeing the Software Development & Testing, BI & Data Science, IT Infrastructure & Security and PMO & Business Change Practices


  • Support co-members working in other regions recruiting within your specialist area, by providing them with market intelligence which gives them a competitive edge
  • Have responsibility for coaching and mentoring co-members who work within your specialist area across the region


  • Conduct client meetings to build and maintain a strong professional network, whilst proactively developing business
  • Leads the team to hit activity targets, KPIs and sales forecasts
  • Maintain personal performance by achieving personal activity targets and KPIs
  • Conduct a professional recruitment process, focusing on both the client and candidate experience

Business Development:

  • Win new business through adopting innovative and creative approaches to selling Reed that makes us stand out from the competitors
  • Creating new and stronger client relationships to enable Reed to take the market share of existing clients from the competition
  • Grow business by exploring potential opportunities and selling recruitment solutions within the existing client portfolio
  • Deliver a world-class service that exceeds the expectations of the client

  • Proactively share recruitment best practice and knowledge internally

  • Be a great communicator, and be able to adapt your communication style based on the situation
  • Be commercially focused and understand the contribution you and your  team make to Reed
