Head of Delivery

Reed.co.uk have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Head of delivery on a 12 month maternity cover. 

This Head of Delivery position is being offered on a 12 month FTC to cover maternity leave and is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our organisation leading a team of highly successful Senior Delivery managers, to ensure all work associated with the highest priority strategic initiatives is completed to the highest quality.

Overview

  • Drive exceptional levels of Programme Management and implementation of robust Programme Delivery Framework.

  • Ensure that ROI is visible, understood and accepted, across Senior Leadership for any associated Delivery led work.  

  • Influence and evolve organisational change for the delivery of strategic goals.

  • Drive the strategic governance framework and support with management of the Business Portfolio. 

  • Maintain and positively contribute to credibility and trusted delivery across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Delivery Managers in providing direction and leadership to cross-disciplined teams for exceptional delivery of Programmes & projects. 

  • Monitor & support Delivery Managers accountable for achieving current objectives and reset as part of 6 monthly talent reviews. 

  • Oversee management of Business Portfolio RAIDD and work with leadership team to ensure business focus on resolving key items promptly. 

  • Ensure Delivery Managers are working with the Product Leads to set the vision and respective objectives and key results for the projects whilst defining how success will be measured.

  • Ensure Delivery Managers are liaising with Product leads to ensure programmes items are included in quarterly team roadmaps, in line with business strategy. 

  • Ensure clear management, control and governance of all third party technical suppliers associated with Programmes of work.

Skills and Experience

  • Results driven, able to problem solve and make things happen quickly whilst influencing and motivating others.

  • Inquisitive and tenacious in nature with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Exemplary communication skills both written and verbal. 

  • Organised, diligent and highly productive professional. 

  • Qualified Agile PM & Prince 2 practitioner. 

  • 5+ years experience of managing senior software development project / programme / delivery managers. 

  • Proven end-to-end delivery of web and mobile products / applications.

  • Experience of overseeing projects / programmes using Agile development frameworks including Scrum & Kanban

  • Deep understanding of the full product development life cycle.  

  • Highly experienced in managing off-shore development teams, 3rd party suppliers and dealing with all associated commercials (no legal qualification required)
