Business Manager

Reed Education are looking for a Business Manager to join the Team in Brighton 

Reed in Brighton currently have an opportunity for a highly driven and motivated Business Manager to lead one of our recruitment teams. This represents a rare opportunity to further develop a well established branch working for a top recruiter in the local area.

This role will suit an experienced manager or a current senior recruiter looking for the next level. You will require a passion for recruitment and the ability to inspire and motivate a highly effective sales team.

The team specialises in the Education sector from Early Years through to 6th Form centres. Our main focus is Primary, Secondary and SEND Education. We offer recruitment solutions to schools focusing on high compliance, quality of staff, cost and service levels.

 

The team has a strong presence in the market with a high percentage of schools in Sussex using our services. 

 

 

 

Within Reed, the Business Manager (BM) assumes responsibility for:

a) The development of business in their local area, with new and existing Schools and Academies to ensure that their office is meeting challenging financial and growth targets

b) To effectively manage, lead and motivate Recruitment Consultants within their office to successfully perform in their roles.

Through client interactions, including client visits where relevant, BMs are accountable for the negotiation of Service Level Agreements and terms of business, to ensure that each client is committed to Reed providing them with a world-class recruitment service. 

It is the BM’s responsibility to ensure that their office is profitable. As part of this, BMs are expected to meet and where possible, exceed challenging sales targets whilst also managing their costs. 

Service excellence is paramount in Reed and it is the BM’s duty to ensure that their team of Recruitment Consultants adopt appropriate standards, processes and procedures that deliver an exceptional level of service to clients. The BM must therefore successfully manage, lead and motivate Recruitment Consultants within their office. This will include:

— Ensuring that Recruitment Consultants undertake the relevant training, including the three year training and development programme and relevant on-the-job training to ensure that they are effective in their roles
— Conducting performance reviews and one-to-one meetings in accordance with established performance management frameworks to identify development needs
— Taking action to address development needs such as coaching, mentoring or identifying further training requirements
— Encouraging Recruitment Consultants to develop their skills and create opportunities for career progression in line with the career development framework
— Motivating the team using appropriate reward, recognition and incentive strategies
— Directly addressing issues that may arise within the team
 

The BM should always work within best practice guidelines and set an example for all Co-Members to follow in terms of service delivery, creativity, performance, networking and the development and sustaining of professional relationships.
