Your new role…

Reed Talent Solutions is looking for a Head of Bids to drive the strategy behind our bids and presentations. We are looking for a highly experienced bid professional who will both lead our bid team and personally write and project manage our most strategic and high-value tenders and presentations for both future and existing clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the bid process for our strategic services division (Reed Talent Solutions), our network (Reed Specialist Recruitment) and our consultancy divisions (Reed Professional Services and Consultancy+).


What you’ll be doing

  • You will manage a team of experienced bid professionals; assigning tenders, presentations and wider projects, monitoring performance on a day-to-day basis and providing necessary coaching and development
  • You will work collaboratively with senior members of both our Sales and Account Management teams to assess the validity of opportunities, identify win themes and agree strategies to complete varying workloads within agreed deadlines  
  • You will work in partnership with the Managing Director of Consulting & Client Engagement to agree bid priorities
  • You will personally write tenders for strategic and high-value clients operating across all industries and sectors
  • You will work in partnership with both the wider bid team and our business development team throughout the tender process, providing a point of escalation and advice for queries and issues, providing overarching project management for different stakeholders to ensure we get the information we need, when we need it
  • You will provide training to wider Reed functions regarding how to complete tenders and presentations for smaller value opportunities
  • You will regularly review and update our library of information to support our proposals
  • You will regularly collate information from across our business, engaging with stakeholders at all levels 
  • You will support different stages of the tender process, including PQQs, RFIs, ITTs, RFPs and presentations
  • You will support our approach to continuous improvement and identify better ways of working by conducting reviews with both internal and external stakeholders
  • You will create engaging graphics and presentations that support our sales messages
  • You will support the wider bid team in sourcing information and creating winning responses
  • You will provide monthly reporting regarding wins/losses and team performance against targets and KPIs

Who we’re looking for


  • 5+ years senior bid experience within the recruitment industry
  • Ideally graduate level or equivalent or strong academic record


  • Experience in managing stakeholder expectations, both senior and junior
  • Experience in bid management/creation
  • Experience of coordinating teams of people across a business
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timescales
  • Ability to multi-task, working on several projects at any given time
  • Ability to assimilate sales strategies and offerings to market
  • Experience of leading workshops to establish win themes
  • Willingness to meet customer requirements
  • Experience of shaping bids, identifying win themes, conducting SWOT analysis

Skills and Competencies
