API Support Specialist


The Customer Integrations Specialist’’s primary role is to be a key enabler for Reed Online’s integrations with third party recruitment software, most notably Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), in order to drive greater results for our recruiting customers. This role plays a pivotal part in allowing Reed Online to maximise the value of existing integrations for both internal and external benefit, ensuring we are successfully building, onboarding and supporting key integrations.


This role will provide high-quality operational and technical support to third-party recruitment software providers integrations through our suite of API’s. Additionally this role will support our internal business functions by understanding how our integrations support a positive customer experience. Ensuring our integrations are deployed effectively to enhance our customers’ use of reed.co.uk services . Playing a key role within the integrations function to develop, launch, and minimise the adverse impact of Incidents across existing and potential integrations.

As well as working with external parties, including ATS providers and Direct Employers, the role sits within a team that works across multiple internal departments including Sales, Customer Success, Engineering and Delivery. As such the ability and desire to build both internal and external relationships and help drive value for all parties is a critical skill set. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Working alongside the Customer Integrations Manager to manage relationships with both existing and new technology partners

  • Develop, launch and maintain interaction applications across third party recruitment software providers

  • Key contributor to the business and product strategy for integrations, including recommending future iterations  

  • Interact with internal teams and external 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems

  • Provide 2nd line Application Support on complex internally developed integrations

  • Provide input to administering and maintaining production and internal environments

  • Provide input to the implementation, backup and roll-back plans

  • Provide support to help with the smooth transition of new releases of integrations into Production.

  • Follow and improve the procedures and processes within the integration development & support function.

  • Providing feedback to internal teams (e.g. Product, Customer Success) based on both customer sentiment and data analysis which help ensure the ongoing effectiveness of integrations and driving technological change where required

  • Maintain good working relationships with internal departments as well as 3rd party ATS providers both live and potential integrations

  • Contributes to the evolution of the service and solution they support.

  • Can work on a broad range of complex technical activities and is able to investigate and resolve complex issues.

  • Can select appropriate tools and techniques to achieve their goals and is able to document and communicate this effectively.

  • Quick to learn and able to apply their knowledge in a way that delivers immediate business benefit.

  • Carries out such tasks as directed to meet the needs of the business.



Skills and Experience 

  • Demonstrable experience in driving high quality internal and external relationships  

  • Experience in utilising customer data to provide meaningful technical solutions

  • Ability to successfully support internal and external stakeholders on the subject of API integrations

  • Excellent investigative skills, ability to follow processes and procedures whilst providing professional levels of communication in the form of updates or resolutions

  • Ability to learn fast and implement knowledge to drive value both for Reed Online and our customers

  • Past experience in technical product sales/partnerships/or consultation preferred; an enthusiasm for driving technology solutions required 

  • Excellent analytical capability 

  • An attitude of making things happen: making those around you more effective and efficient – and a willingness to be held accountable for results 

  • Exposure to xx applications

  • Hands-on experience of Issue Management tools – ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence etc.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to take on a challenge

  • Strong focus on delivery and time management
